About our Workshops |
The workshop is designed to accommodate all skill levels.
You will be shooting under studio lighting conditions. We generally like to start our shoots by discussing some of the facts and myths about glamour photography, cover some technical matters about camera and lighting equipment. We promise not to ramble on to much and get down to shooting quickly. Our conversation is geared to practical matters that will assist and improve your efforts immediately.
One on one assistance is provided....as much, or as little, as needed depending on your skill level. Some of the "processes & how to's" we will review in detail.... such as working with strobes, lighting arrangement, the set, working with light modifiers (Soft boxes, reflectors etc.) taking manual meter readings and working with models.
Our goal is that anyone coming to the class will take away enough information to be able to duplicate the process on your own.
The models will pose in several different "looks" from swim wear, lingerie to tasteful nudity. Each photographer will shoot one on one with the model for approximately 1 hour per day in in a selected look of her. There will also be group shootings (3 photographers per group). You will be shooting swim suit, lingerie and fine art nudes. Overall you will have ample time to work with the model. If you are shooting digitally, expect to shoot up to 300 images. Film shooters will generally shoot up to 100+ images.

This US law imposes some strict obligations that must be followed to avoid fines and penalties, including prison.
We will talk about name and age verification, recordkeeping, and labeling requirements for producers of visual depictions of actual human beings engaged in actual sexually explicit conduct.

Make up & Styling: Learn about the secrets of a photo makeup from our make-up artist. She will give you practical advice, constructive feedback and answer any make-up queries you may have. We will also have a brief talk about Glamour-Styling and appropriate accessoires.

Staging: Artistic elements of the staging will be covered, to include the use of studio space, lighting and props. The scene is then set to start work with the camera.

The shoot: The workshop will cover the shoot itself, focusing on how to direct the model and to create the synergy between subject and photographer that is the essence of quality nude and glamour photography. All participants will have an opportunity to develop their directing skills one-to-one with a professional model

Advanced lighting and direction: More time will be devoted to exploring lighting techniques, and to the developing the creative brief with more precision through set and model direction.

In addition to the workshop, all handout materials, promotional only model releases, and workshop tutorials distributed during the program will be included in the workshop fees.
